How to register for National ID card in Nigeria
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is the body in charge of issuing the national ID card. To meet up demand and provide services to the reach of everyone, NIMC has partnered with some trusted bodies to achieve this aim. Among these are banks and some privately owned enterprises.
These partners have been licensed by NIMC to assist with the work of attending to individuals and adding them to the National Identity Database. Both at home and in diaspora, you can visit any of the centers licensed by the National Identity Management Commission and apply for your National ID card.
Banks are one of the institutes that you will find almost anywhere in the country. With the right environment and resources needed to undertake the service of national identity card enrollment, NIMC has licensed some banks to carry out the registration for the national ID card. So if you are looking for a place where you can apply for the national ID card, you should consider going to a bank close to you.
Below are banks that have been licensed to carry out national ID card enrollment.

To register for a national ID which is supposedly free, all you need is to provide your 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN). The rest details will be tracked from there.
Registration for NIN is not free, you need to pay a fee. Some banks might require you to create an account and make a deposit of a minimum amount before they can register NIN for you free. There are special perks that might come with being a customer of a bank. All these, however, do not have solid backing and you need to confirm for yourself when you go to enroll for your National Identity card.
